1. The service
ToolDeck is a collection of free online tools for image and document tasks, such as converting, compressing, resizing and cropping images, creating and merging PDFs, converting between Word, PDF and text, reading text from images, and generating gamer names. The tools are listed on the homepage.
The tools are designed to run in your web browser. For how files and data are handled, please read our Privacy Policy. It is part of how you should understand these terms.
2. Acceptable use
You may use ToolDeck for personal, educational and business tasks, as long as you use it lawfully and fairly. When you use the tools, you agree to:
- use only files and content that you own or have permission to use and process;
- follow the laws and regulations that apply to you;
- use the tools in a normal way, through the website, as they are offered;
- respect other people's rights, including copyright and privacy.
3. Your files and content
You are responsible for the files you choose to process and for the files the tools create from them. This includes making sure you have the right to use, convert, copy, share or publish that content.
Keep your own copy of anything important. Always keep your original file, and check the result before you rely on it, send it or delete the original.
4. Accuracy and limitations of conversions
We try to make the tools work well, but converted files may not be identical to the originals. For example:
- converting to a lossy format such as JPG can reduce image detail, and converting a JPG to PNG cannot bring lost detail back or add transparency;
- file sizes can change, and some results may be larger than the original;
- layout, fonts, tables, images and formatting can look different after converting between Word, PDF and other document formats;
- text read from an image (text recognition) can contain mistakes, especially with unclear images, unusual fonts or handwriting;
- very large files or very large images may fail to process, depending on your device and browser.
Results depend on your files, your device and your browser. We do not promise that any result will be complete, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.
5. No professional advice
ToolDeck is a set of practical helper tools. It does not provide legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as such.
The tools are not professional design, legal or archival software. Please check important results yourself, especially documents you have to submit officially, such as forms, applications, contracts or identity documents.
6. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not promise that it will always work, be fast, or be free of errors or interruptions. Tools depend on your browser and device, and some features may not work in older browsers.
We may change, improve, pause or remove tools or features, or change how they work, at any time and without notice. The service is currently offered free of charge, and that may change in the future.
7. Intellectual property
The ToolDeck name, logo, design, text and code of this website belong to ToolDeck or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, resell or republish them as your own without permission, except where the law allows it.
Your files stay yours. Using a tool does not give ToolDeck ownership of the files you process or the results you create. Parts of the site may use open-source software, which remains under its own licences.
8. Prohibited misuse
You must not use ToolDeck to:
- process, create or share content that is illegal or that infringes someone else's rights, including copyright;
- create or spread malware, or content meant to deceive, defraud or harm others;
- forge, falsify or tamper with documents or images in order to mislead people;
- attempt to break, overload, probe or interfere with the website or its hosting, or bypass any limit built into the tools;
- use automated scripts or bots to access the site in ways that harm its operation;
- copy or resell the tools or the website as your own service.
We may restrict access to the site where we reasonably believe these terms are being broken.
9. Third-party services
ToolDeck relies on services provided by others. The website is delivered by a hosting provider, and some tools may load open-source software libraries or data (such as language data for text recognition) from public content delivery networks. These services are run by their own providers and are not controlled by ToolDeck.
When your browser fetches files from these services, they may see technical details such as your IP address. See our Privacy Policy for details. The sites we link to may have their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Disclaimer and liability
ToolDeck is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not give warranties of any kind about the tools or their results, and we are not responsible for loss or damage that comes from using, or not being able to use, the site, including lost or damaged files or results that are not what you expected.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the law that cannot be limited by agreement.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. If you keep using ToolDeck after an update, it means you accept the updated terms.
12. Contact
ToolDeck does not currently publish a contact address or contact form on this site. If one is added, it will be listed here. You can read more about the site on the About page.
