How to Convert PNG to JPG
Add your PNG images
Drop PNG files into the upload area or click it to browse. You can add many images at once.
Check the preview
Each image shows a preview with its file name, dimensions and size, so you can remove anything you do not need.
Choose the JPG quality
High (90%) is a good balance between sharpness and file size. Pick a lower setting if a website limits file size.
Convert and download
Press Convert to JPG, then use Download JPG next to each image. Transparent parts of the PNG appear white.
PNG vs JPG: Which Format Should You Use?
Use JPG for photos and anything that must stay small. Keep PNG for logos, sharp screenshots and images that need a transparent background.
| PNG | JPG | |
|---|---|---|
| Compression | Lossless | Lossy, much smaller files |
| Transparency | Supported | Not supported (becomes white) |
| Best for | Logos, screenshots, graphics | Photos, forms, email |
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my image quality get worse when I convert PNG to JPG?
JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of detail is traded for a smaller file. At 90% quality or higher the difference is hard to notice in photos. Sharp text and line art can look slightly softer, so use 95% or keep the PNG for those.
What happens to a transparent PNG background?
JPG cannot store transparency. Before the JPG is created, every transparent area is filled with solid white, so the result never shows a black or broken background.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser using its built-in Canvas feature. Your images are not sent to our server and we do not keep copies.
Can I convert several PNG files at once?
Yes. Select or drop several PNG files together, press Convert to JPG and download each result. Each file is converted separately, so one failed file does not stop the others.
Why is my JPG not much smaller than the PNG?
Small PNGs and images with flat colours may not shrink much. Choose a lower quality setting, reduce the size, or use the image compressor if you need an exact target size.
Why did my file fail to convert?
The file may not be a real PNG, may be damaged, or may be too large for your browser to process. The error message next to the file explains which one it is. Try a smaller size setting for very large images.
