Supported formats and limits

What the converter can open and what it can save.

  • Input: JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame only) and BMP. Other formats work only if your browser can open them.
  • Output: JPG, PNG or WebP. WebP output works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox; if your browser cannot create WebP you will see a message instead of a wrong file.
  • Multiple files: you can select several images at once. Results are listed one by one with before and after file sizes.
  • Not supported: HEIC photos from some phones, RAW camera files, SVG and animated output.

How to convert an image

Three steps, on phone or computer.

  1. Add your images

Drop one or many images into the box, or tap it to choose files from your phone or computer.

  2. Choose format and settings

Pick JPG, PNG or WebP as the output, then set quality and resolution if you need to.

  3. Convert and download

Press Convert Images and download each file. The original name is kept with the new file ending.

JPG vs PNG vs WebP: which format is best?

Use JPG for photos and anything with a size limit, PNG for sharp graphics, screenshots and transparency, and WebP when you are publishing images on a website and want small files.

Adjust image quality and dimensions

What the quality and resolution settings do.

  • Quality applies to JPG and WebP. PNG is lossless, so the quality setting has no effect on it.
  • Resolution lets you keep the original size or scale it up or down (for example 50% for a smaller picture).
  • JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas become white when you convert to JPG.
  • Converting a JPG to PNG does not bring back detail that JPG compression already removed.

Privacy and file handling

Your images are opened and converted by your own browser using its built-in canvas feature. They are not sent to our server, and we do not keep copies. The page itself, its scripts and fonts are delivered by our host, and your browser may fetch a software library from a public CDN (jsDelivr). No analytics or advertising scripts are installed. How do I convert an image online?

Add your image, choose JPG, PNG or WebP as the output, press Convert Images and download the result.

You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP files and save as JPG, PNG or WebP. HEIC and RAW files are not supported.

They are processed in your browser. See the privacy section above for exactly what loads from where.
